Audi RS6 (C8) V8 bi-turbo tuning; 100hp power increase and 100Nm of torque with a chip tuning unit

How can you electronically tune the "monstrous" twin-turbo (3996cc) RS6 V8 to get big increases in power and torque without violating the stock ECU and, thus, without remapping? Well, now we will tell you everything you need to know!

We are discussing the "monstrous" RS6 (C8) Performance with 600hp and 800Nm of maximum torque. This is obviously a supercharged engine; how can we tell? Two important clues are immediately clear: the first relates to the speed at which the maximum power of 600 horsepower is delivered, which is precisely 6100 rpm (remember that we are talking about an engine with a displacement of just under 4 liters), and the engine torque gives the other obvious clue. Here, too, a value of 800Nm "betrays" the hidden presence of 2 turbochargers since if it were a gasoline-aspirated engine, it would have a maximum torque of just over 400Nm, while here the specific torque goes well over 100Nm/liter, reaching 200Nm/liter!

This is a different interpretation of the downsizing concept; an engine with around 6 liters of displacement would have been needed for this power and torque, yet, thanks to the two turbochargers, the 4.0 V8 can deliver this beauty of power and torque, ensuring the RS6 C8 Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 in about 3.7 seconds! Permanent all-wheel drive and an 8-speed sequential automatic transmission help the engine unleash the full power of this beast of a car, which weighs about 2 tons. This is a modern engine with a multi-valve cylinder head and direct TFSI gasoline injection. The turbochargers are equipped with intercoolers and generate a supercharger with exciting performance, which we will discuss more in a moment.

How to electronically tune the RS6 (C8) V8 biturbo 3996hp without remapping the ECU?

Let's cut to the chase. We have created this article to remind you that you can get high increases in power and torque (and therefore performance) without remapping the Audi engine control unit. This has a number of advantages, the first being that not all stock engine ECUs can be reprogrammed. Also, another very important advantage is that when remapping is possible, it leaves traces in the file rewrite phase, which is often only a partially reversible change.

After a remapping, the stock ECU can be restored to its original condition by uploading the previous files again (provided that the preparer who did the remapping saved the original files), but on many ECUs, it is not possible to erase the traces of file overwriting! Furthermore, some engine ECUs can be restored by themselves via a connection with the parent company, an operation that simultaneously voids the warranty.

The second smart way to safely and effectively electronically tune your car is to install our external kit XPF Emulator designed to upgrade the RS6 (C8). It gives you the ability to restore everything back to stock conditions. To get the maximum increase in power and torque, a second GPF-OPF emulation kit must also be installed.

XPF Emulator: GPF-OPF filter removal without remapping the ECU

In addition, for those who wish to remove the GPF-OPF filter without the need to remap the original ECU and without activating warning signals, the XPF Emulator is available. This plug-and-play external kit can be easily installed in as little as 30 minutes. Using the XPF Emulator, you can eliminate the GPF-OPF filter and enjoy the benefits of increased power and torque without having to make permanent changes to the engine ECU. The kit offers an affordable, reversible alternative for those who wish to maximize the performance of their Audi RS6 (C8) twin-turbo V8 without compromising the vehicle's warranty or original functionality.

Audi RS6 (C8) V8 bi-turbo Accelorator pedal module

To make performance and handling even more exciting, we can also provide our PEDALBOOSTER chip tuning module that simply mounts onto the RS6's accelerator pedal position sensor ( again, easily with genuine connectors and also with the ability to restore it to stock condition without leaving any traces) to eliminate the engine's delayed response to throttle commands from the driver! With PEDALBOOSTER, you can select various levels of accelerator pedal response and make driving even more sporty and engaging.

Both the kits for the RS6, meaning the CHIPBOX power/torque chip tuning additional unit and the PEDALBOOSTER chip tuning module to increase engine readiness, can also be ordered in the CONNECT version. Thanks to Bluetooth technology and our APP, you can control the power and engine output of your RS6 directly from your smartphone!

To sum up the most important figures from this technical spec sheet:

Displacement: 3996cc

Number of cylinders: 8 arranged in a V shape

Injection type: gasoline, direct

Supercharging: 2 turbochargers

Standard power: 600hp

Tuned power: 700hp*

Maximum standard torque: 800Nm

Maximum tuned torque: 900Nm*

* To achieve these increases, the installation of our specific XPF Emulator kit for OPF emulation is also necessary. This modification does not involve ECU remapping, and everything can be reverted to stock conditions.
