Who doesn't know the VW Golf? It is one of the most famous cars in the world, and not just in Italy and Europe. It is a mid-size car that has been able to win over sportsmen (young and old), family fathers (and mothers), entrepreneurs, salesmen, new drivers, and the elderly. In short, it is a multifaceted and versatile car that has consistently been available with lots of engines to fit any need, from small gasoline engines to small turbodiesels up to powerful V6s or turbo gasolines with lots of horsepower. It can be family-oriented and comfortable or sporty and low-riding. The Golf has pleased countless people for decades. Golf Diesel Chip Tuning Modules
How much time has passed and how many reworkings since the Golf III series came out (well over 20 years ago) with the legendary 4-cylinder 1900TDI available with 90hp or 110hp! It was a new (at the time) standard for performance and fuel economy. It was one of the very first cars to feature a turbodiesel engine with an electronically controlled direct injection pump and then, on the 110hp version, an innovative variable geometry turbocharger (VNT). Do you remember that? Well, we do.
The Diesel automotive world changed the day the VAG group introduced this engine, which was also installed in Seats, Audis, Skodas, and even some Ford minivans. The 1900 turbodiesel, with the highest specific power ever at the time, was then followed by another innovation: the injection system with pump injectors. This raised the 1900TDI's power output to 115hp, then to 130hp, and then to 150hp before being supplanted by the newer 2-liter 16V, first powered by pump injectors and then by common-rails like all cars produced in the last few decades.
Now, we'll look at the power and torque increases with CHIPBOX! Now all Golf diesel engines are common-rail, and so are the 1.6TDI and all 2.0TDI (and the 2.0TDI is available in a truly vast array of power levels). But let's see some examples of Golfs processed with our chip tuning. We can't list all the engines because, as said, there are so many, but here are some examples that will give you an idea of the magnitude of the power and torque (therefore, performance) increases available on these powertrains.

On all common rail turbodiesel Golfs, the installation of the chip tuner is simple and does not require any mechanical or electronic modifications, nor does it require ECU remapping. Golf turbo-petrol Chip Tuning
As other automakers have done (e.g., BMW and Mercedes, and AUDI even earlier), many years ago, VW began using direct gasoline injection-fueled engines in its Golfs. This technology, combined with turbocharging, ensures excellent performance with lower fuel consumption than similar turbo-petrol engines that mount injectors on the intake manifolds (indirect gasoline injection).
Thus, the letters TSI and TFSI appeared on the backs of so many Golfs (as well as on the backs of so many AUDI models), indicating this type of power supply to the engine under the hood. Direct gasoline injection engines can create stratified charges inside the cylinder, meaning that they may not necessarily maintain the stoichiometric ratio (ratio of air quantity to gasoline quantity that must be respected on indirect injection engines), creating phases of operation with a lean mixture.
This injection technology combined with turbocharging (often with a twin-scroll turbo that we talked about in other technical articles capable of generating high boost pressures even at low revolutions) gives these TFSI engines high torque and power values with low fuel consumption in relation to performance. There are many Golfs available with these engines, and by installing our additional chip tuning units, thanks to the dual intervention on injection and turbo pressure, we guarantee a significant increase in power and maximum torque without altering the engine's reliability in the slightest. With shrewd driving, it is also possible to reduce gasoline consumption thanks to the increased engine torque that allows greater use of the high gears of the transmission.
